Korben Craig
Korben started racing rentals at Orlando Kart Center in 2021 and realized his passion for racing after just one race. During the last two years, Korben has become a dedicated kart racer with a strong drive to succeed in the racing world. He possesses a deep passion for engineering, evident in his academic pursuits and his willingness to improve his mechanical skills. With his competitive spirit, desire to help others, and commitment to honing his driving abilities, Korben is on a path to achieve his goals in both racing and Motorsport engineering.
In December 2021, Korben acquired his first chassis, a 4-stroke Kosmic chassis with a lo206 engine. Around the same time, he began racing in OKC's League of Legends and showcased his skills by finishing 1st place in the 2022 season 1 championship. Fast forward to spring of 2022, Korben embarked on a new chapter in his racing journey by joining MottazSport at Andersen Racepark in Palmetto, FL. As part of this team, he made a switch to a Birel chassis equipped with a Tillotson engine.
With a strong desire to continuously improve, Korben returned to OKC in the fall of 2022 where he continued to practice driving technique and kart mechanics. In February 2023, Korben was invited to join Tungsten / VEX academy. Korben now plans to venture into TAG racing with a new Rotax engine in his TonyKart chassis.
In school, Korben studies various aspects of engineering where he not only earned certification in Fusion360 CAD but also designed and built a 3D engine model. At the track, Korben is helpful and willing to assist others. He’s not afraid to get his hands dirty and offer advice when needed. During his free time, Korben practices his driving skills on a simulator and enjoys studying Motorsport engineering videos to enhance his knowledge.
Looking to the future, Korben aims to secure a seat in open-wheel racing and earn a degree in Motorsport engineering.
